Dirty Dancing (1987)
First dance. First love. The time of their lives. Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey star in this beloved coming-of-age romance, filled with unforgettable music, electrifying dancing, and one of cinema's most iconic finales.
Movie Synopsis
In the summer of 1963, 17-year-old Frances “Baby” Houseman (Jennifer Grey) joins her family for a vacation at Kellerman's, a Catskills resort where she expects little more than a quiet summer. Everything changes when she discovers the exciting after-hours world of the resort's dance staff and meets charismatic instructor Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze).
When Johnny's dance partner Penny (Cynthia Rhodes) faces a personal crisis, Baby volunteers to help, taking intensive dance lessons to prepare for a major performance. As the unlikely pair rehearse, attraction grows into a romance that challenges the social boundaries of their world and puts Baby at odds with her protective father. With a memorable soundtrack, heartfelt performances, and dazzling choreography, Dirty Dancing is a timeless story of finding your voice, standing up for others, and falling in love.
