The Secret Life of Pets (2016) — Animated Family Comedy
Ever wonder what your pets do when you're not home? From Illumination Entertainment, the creators of Despicable Me, comes a hilarious animated adventure about friendship, jealousy, loyalty and the secret world of New York City's pets.
Detailed Story Synopsis
Max, a lovable terrier, enjoys a perfect life with his owner Katie in a Manhattan apartment. His comfortable routine is turned upside down when Katie brings home Duke, a large, shaggy rescue dog. The two rivals compete for Katie's attention, but their feud quickly spirals into disaster when they get lost on the streets of New York and are captured by animal control.
Max and Duke escape with help from Snowball, a seemingly adorable white rabbit who leads an underground gang of abandoned pets. Soon the pair find themselves in a chaotic adventure through the city, pursued by Snowball's rebellious crew and desperate to return home. Meanwhile, Max's devoted neighbor Gidget assembles a motley rescue team that includes Chloe the cat, Mel the pug, Buddy the dachshund and the wise old basset hound Pops.
With colorful animation, energetic humor and a heartfelt message about accepting new friends, The Secret Life of Pets is a fun-filled adventure for animal lovers and families.
