Detailed Story Synopsis
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, a respected American brain surgeon and grandson of the notorious Victor Frankenstein, has spent his career trying to distance himself from his family's infamous experiments. When he inherits his grandfather's Transylvanian castle, however, Frederick travels to the old country and meets the eccentric hunchback Igor, enthusiastic laboratory assistant Inga and mysterious housekeeper Frau Blücher.
After discovering his grandfather's research notes and a secret laboratory, Frederick becomes determined to prove he can reanimate dead tissue. But a disastrous mix-up involving the brain he intended to use produces an unpredictable Monster. As Frederick tries to teach his creation manners and gain the acceptance of suspicious villagers, the experiment escalates into outrageous comedy, musical spectacle and surprisingly heartfelt moments. From the candlelit castle to the unforgettable “Puttin' on the Ritz” routine, this is a delightfully affectionate send-up of vintage monster movies.
