Hero (1992) — DVD — New
Dustin Hoffman, Geena Davis and Andy Garcia star in this sharp, heartfelt comedy-drama about fame, mistaken identity and the surprising nature of heroism. When a passenger plane crashes, down-on-his-luck small-time crook Bernie LaPlante reluctantly helps rescue survivors, then disappears without seeking credit. Television reporter Gale Gayley becomes determined to find the mysterious rescuer, but another man steps forward to claim the spotlight. As the story becomes a national sensation, the truth proves more complicated than the headlines.
