Lipps, Inc. — Rock It / Power (1979) — 7-Inch Vinyl 45 RPM
Before the worldwide disco success of “Funkytown,” Lipps, Inc. introduced its dance-oriented sound with “Rock It.” This 1979 Casablanca Records single comes from the group's debut album, Mouth to Mouth. Led by musician and producer Steven Greenberg, the Minneapolis-based project blended disco rhythms with funk and electronic textures. The flip side, “Power,” continues the group's energetic dance-floor style.
