The Animals — Retrospective (2004) — Hybrid SACD / Super Audio CD
Special audio format: HYBRID SUPER AUDIO CD (SACD). This premium ABKCO release is a dual-layer hybrid disc with a high-resolution SACD stereo layer for SACD-compatible equipment and a standard CD layer that plays on conventional CD players. It is not a standard CD-only edition. This is the special hybrid SACD release; “gold” refers to the distinctive special disc presentation, not a claim that the disc contains precious metal.
Experience the fiery blues-rock voice of Eric Burdon and the unforgettable British Invasion sound of The Animals on this definitive 22-track retrospective. From “House of the Rising Sun,” “Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood,” and “We Gotta Get Out of This Place” through the psychedelic era of Eric Burdon & The Animals and the collaboration with War on “Spill the Wine,” this album spans the band's influential recordings from 1964 to 1970.
