About the Film
Adapted from the bestselling first novel in Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children series, this ambitious 1980s drama blends survival, identity, belonging and the clash between individual freedom and community expectations. The film imagines prehistoric life through elaborate costumes, locations and a constructed style of communication; its depiction is fictional rather than a documentary account of human prehistory.
