The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977) – Anchor Bay DVD (2000) is the outrageous cult comedy directed by John Landis and written by David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker, the creative team later associated with Airplane! and The Naked Gun. Instead of a conventional storyline, the film delivers a fast-moving collection of irreverent sketches spoofing television commercials, news, movie trailers, martial-arts films, and pop culture. Memorable segments include the kung-fu parody “A Fistful of Yen.”
Featuring appearances by Bill Bixby, George Lazenby, Henry Gibson, Donald Sutherland, and others, this early collaboration is a favorite among fans of offbeat, adult-oriented satire and vintage sketch comedy.
